Tarantino's latest drama will be set in late ’60s-early ’70s Los Angeles and it will focus on Charles Manson's grizzly murders with a particular focus on Sharon Tate.
As you may know, Tate was an actress and the wife of director Roman Polanski. She was murdered by Manson and his followers in 1969.
According to Deadline, the film isn't going to slavishly adhere to the truth. They state "there has been a lot of press that the script focuses on Charles Manson and the murder spree he orchestrated, but I’m told that is akin to calling Inglourious Basterds a movie about Adolf Hitler when the Nazi leader was only in a scene or two."
While no official casting announcements have been made, Margot Robbie has been heavily linked with the role of Sharon Tate. It's believed that Tarantino has also spoken with Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio and Samuel L. Jackson about starring in the film.
If finance is secured, the R-rated film will begin production in mid-2018 for a 2019 release.Explore more on these topics:
