Look away now Redwater fans. It looks like we may see the end of Alfie and Kat’s Irish adventure.
There’s major doubt over the future of Redwater. The show, which was a spin-off for Shane Richie and Jessie Wallace’s characters from EastEnders, saw Alfie and Kat Moon travel to Ireland to find their long lost son.
The show got off to a great start with huge ratings but slowly saw people losing interest throughout the six-part series. The final episode will air this weekend and will reportedly feature a major cliffhanger.
With any cliffhanger, this usually suggests that another season is on the way but it doesn’t look hugely likely given that a decision hasn’t been made yet.
The folks over at Digital Spy, reached out to the BBC to see if there were any talks on the matter and they simply said, “No decision has been made.”
That’s not to say it won’t, but at this stage there would usually be hints that it would return.
