Don't toy with our emotions, Reese.
Reese Witherspoon doesn't appear in near enough movies for our liking - although she's appeared in recent movies like
Inherent Vice and the lacklustre
Hot Pursuit, the last time she really carried a movie by herself was
Wild two years ago.
As one of the most popular movie stars of the late '90s and '00s, Witherspoon has cultivated a loyal fanbase for those movies of her's that we all came of age watching.
And Witherspoon, who turned 40 earlier this year, has been looking back on some of those projects for inspiration for future movies.

The star took part in Facebook Live session last Thursday, and during it, she hinted that she isn't averse to revisiting two of her most famous roles: as Elle Woods in
Legally Blonde and
Legally Blonde 2:
Red, White & Blonde, and
Melanie Carmichael in
Sweet Home Alabama.
”[
Legally Blonde] was really fun,”
she said. “A lot of people have asked me if we’re going to make another
Legally Blonde, and we’re thinking about it.”
The sequel to the movie came out in 2003, and since then it has been adapted into a hit stage musical. Last year,
Reese told EW: “I think we’re ready to see Elle and see what she’s up to lately."

She added:
"A lot of writers over the years have come up with different ideas for it,” Witherspoon said. “I actually think it’s kind of great right now because we’re talking about women in politics and how important that is to get more women. And I think it’d be kind of a cool thing to have her be a Supreme Court justice or someone who runs for office."
Reese just can't escape
Legally Blonde right now: last month,
she marked the 15th anniversary of the first movie's release by recreating some of its most famous scenes.
As for a likely follow-up the 200w rom-com,
Sweet Home Alabama, Reese said in the Facebook Live session
: “We are not making a [
Sweet Home Alabama] sequel that I know of. But if Disney wants to make a sequel, they can just call me: I would happily make
Sweet Home Alabama 2.”
