They were ALL broadcast on RTE One, RTE 2 and TV3.

When it comes to telly, it seems homegrown is best for the Irish.

We are fiercely proud of our fantastic movie and TV talent, and the numbers certainly reflect that.

Despite being spoiled for choice when it comes to TV channels and programming, the twenty programmes with the highest audience figures in 2015 on Irish TV were all broadcast on RTE One, RTE 2 and TV3.

No prizes for guessing that The Late Late Toy Show was frontrunner by a long shot, with over 1.5 million viewers across the country.

Sport featured heavily with big matches coming in at 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th place, closely followed by historical drama Charlie, starring Aidan Gillen.

Also on the list are Mrs. Brown’s Boys, The Voice of Ireland and Room To Improve.
