Conversations with Friends, the new drama series from the producers of Normal People, will come to RTÉ One and RTÉ Player on Wednesday, 18 May, it has been confirmed.
Based on Sally Rooney's debut novel of the same name, Conversations with Friends follows two Dublin college students, Frances (Alison Oliver) and Bobbi (Sasha Lane), and the unexpected connection they forge with married couple Melissa and Nick (Jemima Kirke and Joe Alwyn).
After directing half of Normal People, Irish filmmaker Lenny Abrahamson (Room) will also be helming episodes of the new 12-part series.
Beginning on 18 May at 9.35pm, RTÉ will air Conversations with Friends over six weeks, with two episodes each Wednesday night.
"RTÉ is delighted to be working with Element Pictures again on Conversations with Friends," RTÉ Director of Broadcast and Co-Productions Dermot Horan said in a statement.
"Sally Rooney's novels have really resonated with Irish readers and there is great expectation that this adaptation will do the same for both RTÉ Television and RTÉ Player viewers."
