A live-action remake of The Rugrats is in the works and we're exciting about it.
We grew up watching Tommy and co cause mayhem for their parents, and we absolutely sobbed during the movie (you know the part - about Chuckie's mam, *sobbed*).
Anyway, Diary of a Wimpy Kid director David Bowers has been brought on board to make a live action reboot of the 1990s cartoon.
Tommy, Chuckie, Angelia and their mates will be CGI in the new movie and all of the original cast are coming back for it, which reportedly has a release date of 29 January 2021.
However, even though the kids will be CGI, there will be live action actors playing the parents.
Sarah Levy, interim president of Nickelodeon, said: "Rugrats is hands-down one of the most celebrated cartoons in TV history, and we are thrilled for a whole new audience to meet these iconic characters in brand-new adventures.
"What was true in 1991 when the original show premiered is still true today: kids are fascinated with the world of babies. We can’t wait for today’s kids to meet Tommy, Chuckie and pals."
We can't wait either.
