Ryan Tubridy has said he’s going to make it up to the people who were turned away from the Late Late Show London special.

The broadcaster said that he was going to “fix it” for those who had tickets for the one-off special but weren’t permitted to enter the venue.

The Friday event was “oversubscribed” and applicants were told the show would only accommodate people on a “first-come, first-served” basis.

Tubridy said today that those turned away should contact RTE before the end of the month to be sorted out.

Speaking on his RTE Radio 1 show, he said:

“It was a difficult night for people couldn’t get into the hall. That was disappointing for them, no doubt about it.

“So we’ve put our heads together and we do want to try and fix this, particularly for people who were disappointed.”

Tubridy said that they had “never seen anything like” the demand for entry to the event.

RTE also issued a statement following the show to say that tickets did not guarantee entry to the Central Hall, Westminster venue.

They said:

“Audience tickets for The Late Late Show in London were allocated and managed by UK-based company Applause Store. Applause Store are ticket specialists for UK TV audiences.”

“Tickets were allocated to applicants stating that it was not a guarantee of entry, but seats would be allocated on the night on a first-come, first-served basis.”

Disappointed ticket holders should email [email protected] before the end of the month.
