Season five of Jane the Virgin is on Netflix and that’s our weekend sorted

Season five of Jane the Virgin is officially on Netflix – and that’s the rest of our weekend sorted.

After 100 episodes of twists and turns, the telenovela came to an end earlier this summer – at least, in North America.

We have been keeping our fingers crossed that it wouldn’t be much longer until we were able to how Jane’s final chapter closes out.

And thankfully for us, Netflix have now added the last few episodes – which include a resolution to that massive season four cliffhanger – just in time for this weekend.

Shworunner Jennie Snyder Unman previously told Variety’s TV Take podcast how the focus on the final season was about making sure the Villaneuevas got their happy ending.

She said:

“Part of the reason this final season was structured as it was was so we got through some of the bigger dramatic, emotional swings early on and then we could get back towards building their romantic ending and the ending where the family’s at.

“These three women lived within a few blocks of each other and are always there, sitting on the porch swing, and they’re moving into the next phase of their lives.

“It’s about this family that was created, which is kind of like the family that’s created between the people that are making the show and the people that are watching the show and that shared experience, too.

“It’s all about honoring this big, unruly family that we all created and then saying goodbye to them.”

If you’re looking for more information on what is going to be coming to Netflix in the next few weeks, here is everything that is going to be added in September.
