This season of Grey’s Anatomy has a theme and we’re totally on board with it

Grey’s Anatomy has had plenty of tragedy over the years.

But it looks like the doctors at Grey Sloan Memorial are in for a huge change next season – and we’re all for it, to be honest.

According to TV Lineshow runner Krista Vernoff has come up with a theme for the next season: The Season of Love.

Which, after a very few heavy and just generally dramatic few years, we feel is well needed.

The publication report that Vernoff is keen to add “more joy and more light and more humour” into the series.

As for who will be benefiting from this new season?

After April’s departure at the end of season 14, things are more likely to be heating up between Jackson and Maggie.

And, of course, we’ll be seeing newlyweds Alex and Jo.

But the whole ‘season of love’ thing doesn’t necessarily imply it won’t be without drama: so, we’re kind of wondering if Teddy is going to create a wedge between Owen and Amelia.

Most of all, though, we’re suspecting that Grey’s leading lady will be benefiting the most from the loved-up mantra.

Apart some brief flirtations with Dr. Marsh last season and Dr. Riggs the season before, Meredith Grey has remained single since the death of her husband, Derek Sheperd, in season 11.

Mere has definitely proven she can flourish on her own – but that doesn’t mean we won’t be keeping our fingers crossed.
