We know we’re watching tonight.

The highly-anticipated second season of The Sinner has officially landed on Netflix.

It follows Detective Harry Ambrose (Bill Pullman), who gets lured back to his hometown in rural New York to assess an unsettling and heart wrenching crime: two parents have been murdered by their 11-year-old son, with no apparent motive.

As Ambrose realizes there’s nothing ordinary about the boy or where he came from, the investigation pulls him into the hidden darkness of his hometown.

He’s pitted against those who’ll stop at nothing to protect its secrets — and the mysterious Vera (Carrie Coon) who proves to be a complicated, enigmatic piece to this haunting puzzle.

You can check out the trailer below.

Derek Simonds, the writer of The Sinner, previously told how the new season will be far more psychological because it’s going to delve into some very dark and disturbing aspects of Harry’s past.

He told Variety:

“Season 1, I had designed deliberately with this idea that the experience with Cora just cracks the door open for Ambrose to investigate his psyche more deeply.

“He’s had a lot of these buried experiences in his past that he’s only glancingly referred to in season 1. … And so season 2 one of the main things I pitched from the start was, ‘Let’s learn more about Ambrose.”
