Hakuna your tatas, the new Lion King looks like it's coming along nicely.
It’s a long time in the making but Disney’s new live-action remake is slowly but surely getting there. Yes, it will be a difficult task to rival our favourite 90’s animation, but with director Jon Favreau at the helm and a star-studded cast, it looks set to be a roaring success.
Seth Rogen, who voices Pumbaa in the new film just uploaded a picture with some of his fellow cast mates and it’s upped everyone’s excitement for the new flick.
The picture also features Donald Glover (AKA Childish Gambino) who will take the lead voicing Simba, director Jon Favreau and Billy Eichner, who is the new Timon. In the snap, "This Is America" hitmaker, Donald Glover wore a retro Donald Duck jumper which we are in love with! Seth Rogen wasn't too forthcoming with details on the film, simply captioning the Instagram post with a lion and crown emoji.
The new Lion King is part of a collection of live actions Disney are releasing, which include Aladdin, The Jungle Book and Dumbo.
Joining Seth Rogan, Donald Glover and Billy Eichner are Beyoncé as Nala, John Oliver as Zazu and James Earl Jones as the only original cast member to reprise his role as Mufasa. Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer also returns to work on the film's score.
In the longest wait EVER, it won't be until summer 2019 that we'll see the return to Pride Rock, but I think it's safe to say we won't be disappointed.
