Simon Cowell is reportedly planning another big change to the X Factor this year due to the ratings war with rival show, Strictly Come Dancing.
According to reports, the music mogul wants to move The Xtra Factor to a mid-week slot in order to do battle with Strictly’s spin off show, It Takes Two.
This year’s X Factor has been surrounded in controversy.
It has been reported that from November, he hopes to air episodes of the Xtra Factor on either a Wednesday or Thursday evening.
“Simon says he will react to Strictly’s ratings and this is one way he thinks will improve the X Factor,” a source told The Sun.
Simon is not happy with the ratings.
The two shows have been arch rivals now for a number of years, with each bidding to get the highest volume of viewers each weekend.
The Xtra Factor currently screens on Saturdays and Sundays with Rochelle Humes and Melvin Odoom.
