Yesterday it emerged that The X Factor is undergoing a major “image overhaul” in a bid to boost ratings and now two BIG names have been linked to the show.
According to The Star Simon Cowell wants to secure both Adele and Sam Smith for the live shows.
Adele could make her comeback on the show.
An insider told the publication: “Simon knows how big a ratings hit landing Adele’s big comeback and Sam’s first performance of the Bond theme will be.
“They are the two biggest singing stars on the planet at the moment and he’s told his team to do whatever they must to make sure Strictly doesn’t get them.”
Sam Smith is a hot property having landed the Bond theme.
It remains to be seen whether he will be able to convince them to pick X Factor and whether it will actually make a difference.
