A five-time Olympic medalist is not somebody you should call out on Twitter.
Simone Biles was just 19 years old when she wowed worldwide audiences at the Rio Olympics.
Since then, the gymnast has done a stint on Dancing with the Stars, and become a social media phenomenon.
However, that hasn’t stopped internet trolls attacking the accomplished athlete.
Posting on Instagram yesterday, Simone’s innocent selfie was quickly attacked by followers.
“Seems like you have partied non-stop for a year,” read the comment which also contained the hashtags #Trash, #Unfollow and #SuckyAssRoleModel.
While we’re sure Simone is relatively used to these types of attacks, this one seemed to have poked a nerve.
The decorated athlete was quick to hit back, replying:
“Talk to me when you train for 14 years and earn five Olympic medals. I think kids would say otherwise.
“My year off is well deserved. Take a couple seats.”
Clearly angered by the ridiculous comment, Simone shared the interaction on Twitter, saying:
“Comments like this have me shook. I really wanted to blur her name out so she doesn’t get attention but it is what it is…”
