Sky release another version of the E.T. Christmas ad and it is too cute

Sky have released the extended version of E.T. Returns and we're absolutely bawling.

Late last month, the network released their Christmas ad for 2019 - and captured the hearts of viewers absolutely everywhere. The clip showed E.T return to Earth after being parted from his childhood friend, Elliot, for almost four decades. It begins with viewers seeing two children in the garden, when they scream after spotting E.T behind a snowman. Calling for their dad, Elliot heads to the garden to find E.T there.

"You came back?!" he cries - and that's the point where, we'll admit it, we burst into tears.

But their reunion wasn't meant to last. After spending the day with Elliot's family, you guessed it, E.T had to go home - and the only way to send him back was to go up, up and away (with the track from the film in the background, naturally). Since it was released, fans have been praising the ad as one of the best Christmas ones yet - and in good news, there's now an extended cut. In fact, it is twice the length of the original video - so there's even more festive adventures with everyone's favourite extraterrestrial . They include even more about the heart-warming reunion between  E.T. and Elliott, as they feast at the dinner table, play in the snow and fall asleep watching films together after 37 years apart.
