This soap star is the latest Strictly contestant to be revealed

You know autumn is closing in when Strictly Come Dancing waltzes its was back onto our screens. The names of stars we can can expect to take to the dance floor this year have been coming out all week and the latest to be announced is Gemma Atkinson, who played Carly Hope on Emmerdale. "I am looking forward to learning a new skill in ballroom and latin dancing and taking on this new challenge."

Gemma is also know for playing Lisa Hunter in Hollyoaks in the early 200os and for roles in Casualty and The Bill. She's the fourth contestant to be confirmed for this year's show - This Morning's Ruth Langsford, Mollie King from The Saturdays and EastEnders actor Davood Ghadami have all been confirmed for the show. Strictly is due to return to our screens some time in September - we'll keep you posted!
