Staying in? Jennifer Aniston and Kate Hudson star in tonight’s comedy on RTÉ

Popcorn at the ready.

We’re all a bit deflated after the bank holiday weekend.

Whether you were jazzing down south or partying in the local, it’s safe to say we’re all fit for bed and at most, a takeaway and a good movie.

And thankfully, if you’re too exhausted to be mindlessly scrolling on Netflix, the TV listings for the night are not too shabby.

Tonight, at 9:35pm, Mother’s Day is on RTÉ One.

Starring Julia Roberts, Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson, Jason Sudeikis, Jennifer Garner, and Timothy Olyphant, Mother’s Day follows the lives of different mothers on Mother’s Day.

The film is all about a group of seemingly unconnected people in Atlanta. We’ve got Sandy (Aniston) who is happily divorced until she learns that her ex-husband eloped with a much younger woman. Now she must learn to deal with big changes in her life as her two boys now have a stepmom.

Sisters Jesse (Hudson) and Gabi (Chalke) get an unexpected surprise from their mother, who is not happy to find out Gabi is a lesbian and Jesse is getting married to a man she doesn’t approve.

Miranda (Roberts) has no kids and is focusing on her career.

Kristin (Robertson) is enjoying life as a new mother but feels pressure from her boyfriend to get married.

Bradley (Sudeikis) is trying hard to be the best parent for his two girls since their mom passed away last year, but he wants to pretend that Mother’s Day doesn’t exist.

Yep, it’s a packed storyline with plenty of moving parts similar to Valentine’s Day or New Year’s Eve.

We suggest you watch it with popcorn or plenty of chocolate.

Also on telly tonight, Pulling with my Parents is on RTÉ Two at 9:30pm.
