Our favourite noughties film ever is set to become a TV show

News that makes you wanna dance...

Rebecca Keane

No one can forget THE FILM of 2006.

Step Up saw the start of a dance revolution, starring future husband and wife Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum.

The 2006 film was a smash hit, grossing a whopping $650 million at the box office. I personally must have watched the film roughly 50 times and even attempted some of the incredible moves (badly).

The first Step Up was such a success it pre-empted Step Up 2, a Step Up 3, Step Up Revolution AND a Step Up : All In but over the years, the quality of the films slightly decreased with the first movie always remaining the most popular.

As many said the movie concept was a little stretched with more productions, it’s refreshing news that the concept is instead going to be transformed into a TV show.

According to Deadline, YouTube has picked up the project which will see more dancers hit the spotlight, hopefully to more BANGING tunes.

The show is reportedly starting filming later this year and will premiere on YouTube Red, the new subscription service offered by the video sharing site.

The excellent news which has made us SUPER excited is that Channing Tatum and his wife have signed on to executive produce the series which is sure to give it the magic that the first film provided us with.
