Director Tim Burton and star Michael Keaton haven’t exactly been backwards in coming forwards regarding a Beetlejuice sequel, but Winona Ryder has finally added her two cents and all is well with the world.
The 43-year-old (no, really) actress appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers on Monday night and made the hearts of fans soar with a simple line: “I think I can confirm it”.
Ryder, who starred opposite Keaton in the 1988 cult comedic fantasy film explained that the project was “hush hush” for a while, but she felt she could bring it up after Burton mentioned the film in his press tour for Big Eyes.
In the original, a recently deceased young couple, played by Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis, become ghosts who are trapped haunting their former home.
Keaton has the titular role as Beetlejuice, a ghost who makes it his mission to scare away the new inhabitants of the home – including Winona’s character Lydia.

No details have yet been released on the sequel so in the meantime there’s only one thing for it – pump this one out, and make it LOUD!
