Tasha’s dad describes Andrew as “son-in-law material”

Andrew’s won Tasha’s father over anyway.

Love Island’s Andrew Le Page has won the stamp of approval from Tasha Ghouri’s father Tarek following the baby challenge episode this week.

During the show, Andrew took his robotic baby on a tour of the villa, and included one very important stop along the way. At the fire-pit, the real estate agent told Leo about the significance of the location.

He said: “Your mum told me about her superpower, her superpower being that she has an implant which makes her able to hear, which is very, very special. Very, very brave.”

Fans took to Twitter to share their appreciation for Andrew in that moment, with one fan tweeting: “Any man can be a father. But Andrew and Davide are DADDIES.”

Tarek appeared to agree with this viewer as he wrote: “Andrew is looking more and more like son-in-law material.”

While it was sweet to see Tarek support Andrew’s bid to become Tasha’s husband, many fans also expressed how funny it was that he was responding to a tweet that set out to be, in essence, a thirst trap.

On Reddit, one fan wrote: “Tasha’s dad’s comment is so heartwarming to see but it does make me laugh that he’s responding to a thirsty post about Andrew.”

All jokes aside, Tarek has been incredibly supportive of Tasha during her time in the Love Island villa. As well as cheering her on, he has also been calling out online bullies and ableist abuse.

Recently, he described some of the comments levelled at his daughter as “nasty and unnecessary”.

In an interview with The Mirror, he said that some of the abuse makes him “sick to the stomach”.

“I don’t know what fuels people to even think like that,” he said. “They don’t even know them. It’s quite bizarre.”

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on Virgin Media Two and on the Virgin Media Player.
