Simon Cowell is said to have chosen Bob Dylan’s Forever Young for this year’s winning X Factor song.
The controversial choice has angered many music fans who see it as a classic song that shouldn’t be touched.
Forever Young is one of the greats
A source spoke to The Sun about the news: “Simon is aware that the song choice will split opinion. Some will argue he is introducing Bob and the song itself to a new, younger audience. But arguably the majority will feel the opposite.
“Bob stands for everything that The X Factor does not, which means hearing the track will be tough for many musos to go through”.
It’s not the first time the song has been chosen as a choice for the X Factor winner because according to reports, this is the song One Direction would have released if they had won the show in 2012.
Simon’s choice has annoyed people
This isn’t the first time a winning contestant has been given a controversial song choice as in 2008, Alexandra Burke’s Hallelujah had music fans up in arms.
The reaction on Twitter has been strong with many people criticising the music mogul’s choice.
