The Devil Wears Prada is going to be made into a stage musical!

According to reports producer Kevin McCollum, whose credits include the stage version of Rent, is adapting the film for Broadway.

As we all remember, the movie starred Anne Hathaway as an aspiring writer who took a job as an assistant to the editor of the most respected fashion magazine in the world.

While we’re finding it hard to accept someone other than Meryl Streep stepping into Miranda’s oh-so-expensive shoes, we are super excited to see how this unfolds.

One factor that is guaranteed to push the sales of the musical through the roof is the news that none other than Elton John is writing the musical score for the upcoming project.

According to The Irish Mirror, Elton spoke of his delight at being involved  in the musical.

“Re-imagining The Devil Wears Prada for the musical theatre is super exciting.

“I’m a huge fan of both the book and the feature film, and a huge aficionado of the fashion world…

“I can’t wait to sink my musical teeth into this hunk of popular culture.”

Sir Elton John has been involved in musical productions such as The Lion King, Billy Elliott, The Addams Family and Sister Act so we’re sure Elton won’t disappoint with the score for The Devil Wears Prada.
