The first trailer for Game of Thrones’ final season is officially here

Keeley Ryan

Winter is coming.

At least for Game of Thrones fans, with the coutdown officially on for the final season of the HBO epic.

After an almost two-year-long wait, the last six episodes of the HBO epic will begin on April 14.

And just when we thought we couldn’t get any more excited for it, the first full-length trailer (yes, with new footage this time) has been released.

Yes, that’s right: after months and months and months of teasing, it’s finally here. It is just about as epic as we could have hoped for.

There’s a whole lot of shots of just about everyone looking around ominously. The dragons flying over Winterfell. Cersei looking…very Cersei-ish, plotting something. . Arya seeing the dragons for the first time.

“Our enemy doesn’t tire, doesn’t stop, doesn’t feel,” Jon Snow says at one point.

Although, really, there are plenty of people that that could apply to: the Night King, his Army of the Dead, the White Walkers, the Wights….even Cersei or Euron Greyjoy.

But it’s the final seconds of the trailer that hint at the moment fans have been waiting for since the last season came to an end: the battle for Winterfell.

It’s a lot to unpack, really.

Yep, it’s pretty safe to say we’re going to have this on repeat for the rest of the day.
