The first trailer for the Suits spin off is here and we’re already hooked

The first trailer for the Suits spin-off is here - and it looks Jessica Pearson's 'killer' reputation is already causing a storm. Fans of the legal drama were left heartbroken when she left Pearson Specter Litt in the sixth series' mid-season finale. And while she may have traded in the Big Apple for the Windy City, she's since made a number of triumphant returns to her former firm. Even though we always held out a bit of hope she'd return one day, we were absolutely buzzing when it was announced there was going to be a Jessica Pearson-focused spin-off. Now, the first trailer for the spin-off series has been revealed. The new series will follow Jessica - who was recently disbarred in new York - as she adjusts to her new life, and new job, in Chicago. The former managing partner of Pearson Specter Litt is now the fixer for Mayor Bobby Novak - and soon finds herself “in a crooked and dangerous new world where every action has far-reaching consequences." The description continues:

“With her compulsion to win, Jessica is forced to reconcile her unstoppable drive with her desire to do the right thing — two things very much at odds.”

It turns out that the series will be called Pearson, and not Second City as previously reported. The backdoor pilot aired alongside the seventh season finale, which saw Patrick J. Adams and Meghan Markle exit the legal drama. Beyond giving us the Jessica/Harvey courtroom team we never knew we needed, we also got a glimpse at what she's been up to since she left the firm, as she "adjusts to the dirty world of Chicago politics". There has been no premiere date set yet for the new series - but we've got our fingers crossed for it to be very soon.
