We cannot WAIT for this.

The premiere date for Ryan Murphy’s new Netflix series has been announced – and it has a seriously star-studded cast.

The Politician stars Dear Evan Hansen’s Ben Platt as Payton Hobart, a wealthy student from Santa Barbara, California, who has known since age seven that he’s going to be President of the United States.

But first he’ll have to navigate the most treacherous political landscape of all: Saint Sebastian High School.

To get elected Student Body President, secure a spot at Harvard, and stay on his singular path to success, Payton will have to outsmart his ruthless classmates without sacrificing his own morality and carefully crafted image.

Full of dark comedy and sly satire, Ryan Murphy’s The Politician offers a rare glimpse into just what it takes to make a politician.

The cast also includes Gwyneth Paltrow, Jessica Lange, Zoey Deutch, Lucy Boynton, Bob Balaban, David Corenswet, Julia Schlaepfer, Laura Dreyfuss, Theo Germaine, Rahne Jones, and Benjamin Barrett.

Like we said, it’s impressive.

The Politician will premiere on Netflix on September 27. And while it is the first of Murphy’s series’ to debut on Netflix, it reportedly isn’t a part of the huge deal he signed with the streaming service last year.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the first series which will be produced by Netflix as part of the deal is Hollywood.

The American Horror Story creator previously described the show as a “love letter to the Golden Age of Tinseltown.”
