There’s a new David Attenborough documentary coming and it sounds incredible

Jade Hayden

Hook it to our veins.

If there’s one thing everyone in this world can agree on, it’s that David Attenborough content is by far the best content out there.

It just is.

Heartwarming? You got it. Informative? You betcha. Narrated by the most incredible human being on the entire planet? Always.

The man can simply do no wrong – and the day that he stops making documentaries will be an extremely dark one, so let’s just not consider it now, cheers.

Rather, let us consider the fact that The King has got a new documentary series on the way. It’s called Life In Colour, and it sounds like it’s going to be absolutely delightful.

The three-part BBC series will consider the different ways that animals and insects use colour in their lives.

Using a special kind of camera, the show will reveal colours that are usually invisible to the human eye – focusing on the importance of colour to various species, as well as the ways they use it to interact.

Most of the filming for the series will be done in Australia, however other continents such as Asia and South America will also feature.

“Any series authored by Attenborough is very special and this promises to be exceptional,” said Patrick Holland, controller of BBC Two.

“I am looking forward to seeing the combination of innovative photography and rich analysis to explore the role colour plays in animals’ lives.”

“We are delighted to be working with David again on such an exciting series,” added Stephen Dunleavy, executive producer for Humble Bee Films.

“The use of colour is an under-explored aspect of animal behaviour and we are looking forward to taking newly designed cameras into the field to help reveal the whole story.

“It will be a beautiful and revelatory series.”

Life In Colour is expected to air in 2021.
