It's the circle of life.
There may well be a tonne of movie remakes being thrown at us these days but
The Lion King's live-action re-telling is one we can truly get behind, and it'll be in cinemas in just a few months.
Well,
it's only live action in some senses, but it promises to be a genuinely different spectacle to the 1994 animated film and a new trailer, below, shows exactly what we're in for.
Coming out on July 19, 2019,
The Lion King has an all-star cast that features Donald Glover as Simba, Beyonce Knowles-Carter as Nala, James Earl Jones as Mufasa, and Seth Rogen as Pumbaa. The director is the man behind
Iron Man,
Elf and the 2016
Jungle Book remake, Jon Favreau.

Some fans have argued that the new clip doesn't quite show us
anything we haven't seen before, with Disney perhaps just getting in on the Oscars hype to remind us all what they've got coming up for the year ahead.
And 2019 looks set to be the year of the live-action remake from the studio, with
Dumbo and
Aladdin coming out on March 29 and May 24, respectively. Also on their release schedule are
Toy Story 4,
Captain Marvel,
Avengers: Endgame,
Star Wars: Episode IX - which has just finished filming - and
Frozen 2.
So, a quiet year, all said and done.
