Katie Holmes has reportedly been dating Jamie Foxx since 2013 but has never confirmed it or made anything official. The pair were spotted once since then holding hands which fueled the rumours.
But now it’s been revealed why she can’t make it public.
According to Radar, she has signed a deal with ex-husband Tom Cruise where she can’t date anyone in public for 5 years after their divorce, which was settled in 2012. So with that being in place it means she cannot publicly admit to dating Jamie until 2017.
A source said, “Katie signed a clause in her quickie divorce settlement that prevents her from embarrassing Tom in various ways, like talking about him or Scientology, or publicly dating another man for five years after the divorce.”
The reason Katie agreed to these terms was to get the divorce settled as soon as possible.
The source added, “She’s allowed to date, but she cannot do so in a public fashion, and she’s not supposed to let any boyfriend near their daughter, Suri. Katie wanted out of the marriage so badly, she agreed to the terms — and got $4.8 million in child support, plus another $5 million for herself.”
If she does step out in public with any boyfriend she will lose the money from the agreement.
Recently she refused to answer a question about her dating life replying, “That’s not something I want to answer.”
They’ve had a few close calls over the last two years after being spotted holding hands and when Katie was seen cheering on Jamie during a concert and then joining him backstage after. Luckily that time security prevented any photos from being taken.
