According to Radar, she has signed a deal with ex-husband Tom Cruise where she can't date anyone in public for 5 years after their divorce, which was settled in 2012. So with that being in place it means she cannot publicly admit to dating Jamie until 2017. A source said, "Katie signed a clause in her quickie divorce settlement that prevents her from embarrassing Tom in various ways, like talking about him or Scientology, or publicly dating another man for five years after the divorce." The source added, "She’s allowed to date, but she cannot do so in a public fashion, and she’s not supposed to let any boyfriend near their daughter, Suri.
