So the VMAs took place tonight and one of the awards involved Drake presenting Rihanna with the Video Vanguard gong.
To be fair, it was pretty obvious that he was gearing up for something major, telling the audience and everyone watching at home how he had been in love with Rihanna “since he was 22”.
He then went on to say:
“She’s one of my best friends in the world. All my adult life, I’ve looked up to her even though she’s younger than me”.
Uhoh.
Anyway, it all going swimmingly until he handed over the coveted award and went in for a big smooch.
Unfortunately, Rihanna wasn’t having any of it and swerved so she pecked his cheek instead.
