A new pair of avid telly watchers will be joining the Gogglebox Ireland crew tonight.
Father daughter duo, Anastasia and Noel Blake, are set to make their Gogglebox debut this evening, Wednesday, September 8, as this autumn’s series of the popular Virgin Media show continues.
From Fethard, Co. Tipperary, the new household are big fans of westerns, Match of the Day, and of course, GAA.
We can except a lot of riled up sports watching from these two – but that’s not all, because dad Noel is also fairly into DIY YouTube crafts, specifically pertaining to log cabins.
During lockdown he built a grand total of seven sheds and even his own hand made pub. Yes, you did read that correctly.
Gogglebox Ireland fans were disappointed last week when it was revealed that show favourites Fergal and Neal Tully had parted ways with the fly-on-the-wall series.
The twins, who are from Cavan, announced the news on Twitter, much to the dismay of their fanbase. Fergal said: “It’s with a heavy heart to announce that myself and Neal will not be on gogglebox in the near future.
“I could not bring myself to watch tonight as it’s like watching your ex shifting your best buddy in the local nightclub.”
Elsewhere, fans of Gogglebox UK recently mourned the deaths of two of the series’ best known cast members, Andy Michael and Mary Cook.
Andy passed away aged 61 after a short illness. A statement confirming his passing read: “Retired hotelier Andy, who brought much wit and insight to Gogglebox, was one of the show’s original cast members, appearing in the very first episode in 2013.”
Mary, aged 92, passed away the week previous. She and her friend Marina first appeared on the show in 2016.
“Bristolians Mary & Marina met at St Monica Trust retirement village over ten years ago and had been friends ever since,” Channel 4 said.
“They joined Gogglebox in 2016 at the start of series eight and became instant fan favourites dues to their brilliantly witty and often cheeky comments.”
Gogglebox Ireland continues tonight at 9pm on Virgin Media One.
