Over the last few years, we have certainly seen some amazing films emerge from Ireland and this one certainly looks like it could be included in that list.
Set in Ireland during the War of Independence and starring ara Breathnach, Muireann Bird and Gerard McCarthy, the film revolves around two sisters whose lives are changed forever as they care for a wounded soldier. What transpires is a tragic love story of a household & its inhabitants, caught in the crucible of dark deep secrets.
The people behind the film have worked incredibly hard to get it off the ground. In July 2013, Garret Daly and Martina Mc Glynn undertook a massive community arts project across Offaly and Westmeath. Without any funding support, they engaged the communities in both counties to come together with a view to making a Feature Film. People were trained in the art of set design, production management and the results were amazing.
The film is due for release here on September 12th.
