The trailer for Schitt’s Creek’s final season is here and our bodies, they are not ready

All good things must come to an end.

And in this case, one of those things is Schitt’s Creek.

The deeply funny and far-too-real comedy has been delighting us all ever since it first dropped on our TVs and tablets all those years ago.

It’s gas, it’s warm, it’s expertly written and there will never be another like it.

And now, it’s ending.

The final series of the show will be debuting in the States on January 7, 2020, and although a simple launch date was enough to get us excited a few months back, now we’ve got an actual trailer.

And yes, it is as good as you’d expect it to be.

Star and co-creator Dan Levy shared the teaser on his Twitter this week alongside the caption: “Here we go, friends.”

The trailer features the iconic Rose family, Patrick, and Stevie stalling it down a dirt road hand in hand, arm in arm, laughing and smiling away, tearing our hearts to tiny, little pieces.

It’s emotional. You’ve been warned.

Earlier this year, Levy (Dan, that is, not Eugene) told Entertainment Weekly that he originally thought the show was only going to get five seasons.

“I feel really confident that we’ve really mined everything we could,” he said.

“But the world doesn’t explode at the end of it. If there is something that comes up down the line that feels compelling enough to bring our troupe back together and continue to tell a story, so be it.

“I’m not one to lay down the iron fist and say, ‘This is it forever.’ This is just it for now.”

Again, with the heartache.

Schitt’s Creek returns in January 2020.
