This isn't the first time a celebrity has chosen to go by a different name other than their 'real' moniker but it never fails to baffle us nonetheless, case in point TV presenter Tess Daly. Tess, who we know and love as the co-host of Strictly Come Dancing together with her gal pal Claudia Winkleman, isn't actually named Tess. Tess's real name is Helen Elizabeth Daly and why she chose the name Tess as her show business title is not yet known. W have OK! to thank for bringing this rather surprising tidbit of information to our attention although the reason for this decision is not clear. In some cases, Tess is used as an abbreviation for Elizabeth but more commonly, it is short for Theresa, Therese, Estella and Tessa. As previously mentioned, this is a common occurrence in celebrity land and recently, we found out that Meghan Markle was named Rachel by her parents which coincidentally is the same moniker of her on-screen Suits character, Rachel Zane. It seems that Meghan's full name is Rachel Meghan Markle, suggesting that she decided to go by her second name rather than her first when launching her acting career.
