HOLD. ME. NOW.

DON’T CRY. DON’T SAY A WORD JUST HOLD. ME. NOW.

It’s Johnny Logan. Johnny Logan’s just been announced for Electric Picnic. That’s who it is.

And if you didn’t cop that from the above all-caps lyric reference then you probably won’t be all that interested in the following information anyway so you can stop reading now.

Everyone favourite Irish Eurovision entry (as well as maybe Linda Martin and possibly Jedward) will be hitting up the Electric Ireland Throwback stage this year to sing some of his hits like the iconic ‘Hold Me Now’ and ‘What’s Another Year.’

And, understandably, Johnny’s fairly excited about the whole thing too.

After years and years of gigging very successfully around Europe, millions of record sales, performing for heads of state from The Queen of England to Pope John Paul at The Vatican – I‘ve finally been asked to play on the Electric Ireland’s Throwback Stage at this year’s Electric Picnic!,” he said.

“I am more than delighted and really looking forward to it. The slow set is the perfect way to set the mood before I take to the stage.

“So many people share their memories of dancing to some of my songs, during the ‘slow set’ back in the day. I really hope people get into the spirit, and enjoy the ‘slow set’, a novel thing in the middle of a festival I’m sure!”

Definitely Johnny, definitely.

A few other people hitting up the Throwback stage this year are B*Witched and Heather Small so you know, decent lineup if you’re planning on heading down to Stradbally next weekend.
