As Yewande took time to say goodbye to her fellow Islanders at the end of the show, one of the girls could be heard saying "Bye Felicia".
The phrase comes from 1995 film Friday and is commonly associated with black culture.
Some on Twitter thought that the dig towards Yewande was inappropriate.
But would they have said "Bye Felicia" if Yewande wasnt black??No! ??? #LoveIsland pic.twitter.com/NUpMWTV678

Everyone saying “bye Felicia” is racist. Crawl back in your hole. It’s a line from a film that IceCube says #loveisland #friday pic.twitter.com/On5PwMgcPD

You'll remember that the hashtag #ByeFelicia was included in the text that Maura read out announcing the recoupling earlier in the episode. Some fans reckon this meant the producers knew who was going home before the recoupling even happened - and that there may have been a racial undertone to it.That Bye Felicia was definitely racist. Pricks. #LoveIsland
