Watch out for Holly and Phillip doing THIS during Dancing on Ice

Dancing on Ice

Dancing on Ice returns with a new series on 7th January and with the duo that is Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, it’s likely be a major hit.

The presenters are hugely popular on This Morning and their fans are sure to tune into the competition for the banter as well as the impressive skating.

In a recent interview talking about the upcoming programme, Phillip explained that it’s not often as calm as it looks and that sometimes viewers don’t realise just how dangerous things get.

The father of two said that there’s always a full medical team and ambulance on standby in case someone gets injured during the many complicated routines.

In rather extreme detail, Phillip told The Daily Star:

“People forget the skates are like knives. Those blades are constantly sharpened…that’s why they sound the way they sound. They are blades”.

Yeeeeouch.

Of course, Holly and Phillip are briefed on how to react if someone is injured during the show and they do their best to avoid any unnecessary panic.

In order to ensure things run as “seamlessly” as possible, the presenters will sometimes introduce an ad break, which makes a lot of sense when you think about it.

“If we didn’t know how they were doing, we wouldn’t cut back to them and the camera would stay with me or we’d go to a break”.

He also said that every year, the celebrity contestants are given a specific warning to “pull their fingers in” because if they fall, another dancer could accidentally hurt run over them with the sharp ice skates.
