WATCH: The trailer for The Woman In The Window is here and it looks harrowing

Jade Hayden

Amy Adams serving it, as usual.

The trailer for The Woman In The Window is here, and if you were hoping for a quiet night of chilled and relaxed enough teaser viewing, think again.

Directed by Joe Wright and based on the book of the same name, the film follows a woman (in the window, right??) named Anna Fox.

A doctor suffering from severe agoraphobia, venturing outside is a virtual impossibility for Anna. Instead, she relies on the company of a woman named Jane (played by Julianne Moore) who lives in the apartment across the street from her.

But Jane has got a secret. Or at least, her husband Alistair does.

One night, when Anna’s looking out her window, she sees Jane being brutally attacked by her husband.

After alerting the authorities, she is informed that nothing is amiss in the home, that Alistair’s wife is fine, and that she’s not Jane (played by Julianne Moore) at all.

She’s Jane (played by Jennifer Jason Leigh).

Confused? You should be.

What ensues is a psychological thriller fuelled by misdirect, miscommunication, and mistaken identity – as Amy Adams attempts to figure out who murdered her new friend, while learning some crucial things about herself along the way.

The Woman In The Window is set for release in May, 2020.
