Westlife have announced a once-in-a-lifetime show at Wembley Stadium for next summer.

The gig, which the band says would be their “biggest ever concert in the UK”, will take place on August 22,2020.

Taking to Instagram on Friday morning, the band said:

“We’re so excited to announce we’ll be playing a once in a lifetime show at Wembley Stadium! We can’t wait to see you all at our biggest ever concert in the UK.”

Tickets for the show will go on sale on Friday, September 20 at 9am.

It comes as Westlife have been tipped to play a massive gig in Cork next summer.

Promoters MCD are holding a press conference on Monday about a “massive concert for 2020” that would be taking place in Páirc Uí Chaoimh.

And, following rumours that the band are planning a massive world tour for 2020, many fans have begun to speculate that the headliners could be Westlife.

It’s worth noting that the concert promoters have said the headlining act will be attending the press conference – and Westlife have a gig in London the night before.

So, that may rule them out – but we’re keeping our fingers crossed that’s not the case.

Earlier this year, an insider told RSVP Live that, following the reaction to their Twenty Tour, the band were looking to play venues in three counties next year.

They explained:

“It has already been said that they are going on another tour next year, but it is going to be bigger and better than the Twenty Tour.

“They are going to play in three cities in 2020; Dublin, Belfast as well as Cork.

“Louis Walsh and the boys are very excited. They are overwhelmed with the response they got with this tour.”
