5 Netflix shows to watch today if you couldn’t get enough of Dead To Me

Missing Dead To Me? Same, tbh.

The show was 10 short episodes of pure dark comedy bliss and if you were at all into it, chances are you’re finished by now.

And even though there is absolutely going to be a season two (because after that ending, there has to be), we probably won’t be seeing it for another year of so, leaving us perpetually gagging for some more Christina Applegate goodness.

Never fear though, because this is Netflix, and even though one excellent show is over, there are a plethora of others to choose from.

Here’s a few to quell that post Dead To Me upset.

1. The Society

One of Netflix’s newest additions, The Society is a supernatural thriller following a group of young adults who find themselves transported to New Ham, a town in New England that is – in every way – identical to the one they grew up in.

The only issue is they’re completely alone, leaving them with two choices – band together and survive or separate and perish.

The show is already being hailed by some as a modern retelling of Lord of the Flies, and even though it’s doubtful The Society will reach such iconic heights, it’s still worth a watch.

2. Santa Clarita Diet

Santa Clarita Diet may have been recently cancelled, but that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t still be binging it until you simply cannot binge no more.

Starring Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant, the comedy follows a realtor who dies and is quickly reanimated to discover that she has an insatiable taste for human flesh.

Like The Walking Dead but with more ‘aww’ moments, less heroic male leads, and just as much gore.

3. Quicksand

The suspect of a mass murder, teenager Maja recounts the events leading up to the school shooting in her Swedish hometown.

The 18-year-old admits the shooting early on but denies committing any crime, making the series more about why the students were killed, and less about who did it.

Quicksand is all thriller with absolutely no laughs, but it’ll leave you with the same confusion and unease that some of Netflix’s most popular dark comedies are wont to.

4. Jane The Virgin

Declaring herself a loud and proud virgin, 23-year-old Jane accidentally becomes pregnant when her gynaecologist mistakenly inseminates her during a routine exam.

What follows is five seasons worth of telenovela parody, Gina Rodriguez being a total queen, and some other things too but the aforementioned should be enough to make you want to watch it, to be honest.

5. Schitt’s Creek

Rich family goes broke and is forced to live in a seedy, dingy motel they once bought for a laugh.

The Canadian sitcom starring American Pie‘s Eugene Levy has been around since 2015 and has amassed a cult following among fans.

It’s funny. Watch it.
