A huge congratulations is in order for Bonnie Sveen and her partner Nathan Gooley - they're expecting twins!
The actress used to play Ricky Sharpe in
Home and Away, back when the Braxton brothers took over the limelight of the show.
She told
New Idea that she was shocked by "over the moon" when she first found out.
"We’d done all the regular home tests, and they said I wasn’t pregnant. But things weren’t quite right when I was in Queensland so I went to the doctor and sure enough, I was pregnant!
"I really didn’t want to tell Nath on FaceTime so that was a bit crap, but it was also just a massive flood of excitement. It was bittersweet with him not being there but at the same time – it was only a matter of time. I was on set of my first feature film ever [Escape And Evasion] so it was like, ‘Oh my god, I’m kicking goals!’"
Continuing on about her thoughts when she first found out, she said: "I was thinking, 'How am I going to do this?' It's our first baby and now it's two. The pregnancy, the risk, the birth itself – everything. We are now going to have to be doubly prepared.
"So once that wave left, it was just absolute bliss. I was over the moon – happy crying, laughing, while Nathan was left with an open jaw.
"We've always wanted kids. We've both got big families between us and now we're adding two more!"
