But it turns out it makes sense to the folks at Tim Hortons, as the they revealed the inspiration behind the combination.
Since Buffalo sauce and the doughnut chain both made their debut in the same year - 1964 - the restaurant decided they would definitely work together.
Stephen Goldstein, regional president of Tim Hortons U.S., said in the press release:
