If you’re out west and looking to dine outside at one of your local restaurants or cafes, here’s a list of places still serving food outside.
Ireland has become a hub for outdoor seating areas and if you bring enough coats you won’t even notice you’re not inside. Now is the time to show your support for a local business and go have a meal or two in their (mostly) heated outdoor areas.
Here are a few in Galway that have managed to stay open for level 3…
The Secret Garden Galway
As far as restaurant gardens go this is one of my favourites. They have a gorgeous area out the back of the cafe, which comes as a surprise when you walk out the back door of the actual coffee shop and into a secret garden world out the back. I would recommend popping by for some tea and soup out the back and just a very relaxing time. They have every tea available under the sun, so if you like tea (who doesn’t?!) then drop by and show your support.
Urban Grind Galway
Another gorgeous cafe with a stunning outdoor area not to be missed out west. They also do an amazing brunch so while lockdown is on you do not have to give up brunch with a friend, just book a table at Urban Grind and enjoy their delicious brunch menu al fresco.
An Pucan
If you’ve been to Galway even only once you will have heard of An Pucan. They have a huge outdoor seating area so they are one of the lucky businesses who have been able to stay open during these times. For them it’s business, as usual, but they will have a new menu for the garden seating.
Roots Cafe & Bistro
This familiar cafe in Galway is a go to for pizzas in the area and they have been able to keep serving customers thanks to their outdoor area. If you know the place then pop by to show your support and even if you don’t pop by for a pizza. They are delicious.
Murty Rabbits
This pub recently upgraded its outdoor area when the first lockdown was coming to an end so now they can still look after customers with outdoor dining available. Show your support by booking a table.
Dew Drop Galway
As you can see from the picture above Dew Drop in Galway has plenty of outdoor space to look after customers who don’t mind a little al fresco dining. They will be serving pints and food over the next few weeks, pop by and show your support.
