This green leaf might just be the superfood of 2017

SO many benefits.

From turmeric to kale, beetroot to chia seeds…the number of foods deemed ‘super’ in recent times is getting out of hand.

You might be surprised to learn that there’s another superfood making waves in the health and wellness industry and you may not have heard of it…moringa leaf.

The Ayurvedic system of medicine has linked this non-assuming green leaf to the cure and prevention of almost 300 diseases.

Moringa, often referred to as ‘miracle tree’, is packed with nutrients including potassium, protein, beta carotene, calcium and vitamins A, C and E.

It’s packed with antioxidants, has anti-inflammatory properties and is also said to be good for brain, liver and heart health.

Moringa is also said to maintain healthy cholesterol levels and due to a high concentration of polyphenols in the leaves, it can help create a protective barrier, guarding the liver against damage and oxidation.

You can drink it as a tea or if you’re a green smoothie convert, then adding a little of the leaf to your daily drink will up its nutritional benefits significantly.

The below video explains the benefits of moringa in further detail and you can pick it up in most health shops, in powder form.
