PSA: Percy Pig ice cream has just launched in M&S and suddenly, the world is not so grim

Jade Hayden

What a day for it, in fairness.

You simply cannot beat a Percy Pig.

They’re chewy. They’re tasty. They’re the far superior jelly product that other animal themed foods only wish they could replicate.

But they can’t, and that’s why Percy Pig has long been leading the charge when it comes to tasty treats that you can cheekily pick up during a weekly shop and not feel all that guilty about.

Over the years, there has been products around Percy’s friends, Percy’s family, and even a special Percy sauce so you could drizzle some pig goodness all over your favourite ice cream, cake or, indeed, toast.

And now M&S have done one even better and produced an actual Percy Pig ice cream that is absolutely not for sharing.

Officially launching today (April 14), the ice cream has the unmistakable Percy Pig flavour of raspberry and grape, a ripple of fruity sauce running through, and the soft chewy texture of strawberry marshmallow.

It’s what Percy dreams are made of, honestly.

Customers have been asking us for a Percy Pig ice-cream for a long time now, so we’re very pleased to be able introduce one at a time when we could all use a little pick me up,” said April Preston, Director of Product Development at M&S.

“Percy Pig is loved by so many, so when we develop a new Percy product, we have to ensure every element of the flavour and texture is synonymous with what our loyal fans expect.

“This velvety smooth ice-cream gives that famous Percy Pig flavour, combined with the soft chewy texture of marshmallow. I love two scoops with an extra sprinkling of mini marshmallows on top and a good rom-com.”

The 453g tub will set you back just €4.60 too, so you needn’t worry about breaking the bank for some delicious Pig goodness.

Treat yourself. Go on.
