Personal trainer shows how her body ‘will never be the same again’ after giving birth

Jade Hayden

It’s easy to assume that people who are health-mad will have no bother losing a bit of weight after giving birth.

Spend enough time on Instagram and you’ll become accustomed to influencers, bloggers, and various celebrities showing off their post-partum bodies like their was never a child growing inside there at all.

Not a stretch mark or bit of loose skin to be seen.

For most people though, this absolutely is not the case.

It takes a lot of time, money, and effort for your body to ‘bounce back’ after a pregnancy – and that’s if you want (or need) it to bounce back at all.

One thing is for certain though, and that’s that, for the majority of women, their bodies will never be exactly as they were before giving birth.

Learning to be OK with this fact can be tough for some, but what makes it that little bit easier is knowing that most women are in the same boat.

One of those women is personal trainer, Emily Skye.

She gave birth to her first baby, Mia, two months ago, and even though Emily was straight back in the gym as soon as she could be, she has come to realise that her body will never be exactly the way it was before she carried a baby.

… And she’s OK with that too.

On Instagram, she wrote:

“Physically speaking I will never be the same (which isn’t a bad thing) and I’m making the most of what I’ve got.

“Being fit, strong and healthy is important to me mainly because of how it makes me feel. And if I feel good I’m happy, and I’m a much better mum to my daughter Mia.”

Emily also shared a photo of her body before and after giving birth.

In both images, the personal trainer is extremely fit, but there are noticeable differences to the shape of her stomach – most notably due to the fact that a baby was in there for nine months.

Emily said that she sometimes gets a bit of stick for wanting to be fit and a mum at the same time.

However, she said that being strong makes her feel good about herself and, at the end of the day, there’s nothing wrong with looking good.

“I’m not sure why there seems to be a stigma attached to wanting to look good.

“As long as I’m not ever sacrificing my health to look a certain way and as long as it doesn’t negatively affect my family I don’t see anything wrong with it – in fact, I see everything RIGHT with it!”
