The latest figures from the World Health Organisation claim that one in three women will be the victim of physical or sexual abuse in their lifetimes.
Women who are confident, strong, educated, kind, innocent, or bullied.
Women who could be you, me, your best friend or family member.
Now a new video from Care Norway is calling on all fathers and fathers-to-be to step up their role in protecting women.
With a zero tolerance to a violent attitude and derogatory language towards women, the video’s female narrator explains:
"By the time I am 14 the boys in my class will have called me a 'whore', a 'bitch', a 'c**t' and many other things. It's just for fun, of course...
It later continues…
"... by the time I am 16 a couple of the boys will have snuck their hands down my pants while I'm so drunk, I can't even stand straight. And although I say no they just laugh. It's funny right?
"No wonder I'm raped when I'm 21."
It’s not an easy watch receiving mixed reviews by critics, but it is an important message.
It might just save one woman from rape.
