This is how you can improve your posture – while you’re sleeping

Ellen Tannam

If you’re reading this right now, have a think about how your posture is right now.

Bet you a tenner that you’re scrunched over your phone, laptop or tablet hunching your shoulders into a Quasimodo-esque shape.

Good posture can make you look and feel much better, and according to the Huffington Post, your posture can even be saved after years of slouching in office chairs.

Rejoice.

According to Dr. Keren Day, maintaining a ‘neutral’ sleeping position is the best way to benefit your posture as you’re dreaming about the burger you had the other day.

She recommends  sleeping “on your back with soft neck support and your knees elevated so your spine can stay neutral at night.’

Although it may take a little getting used to, it could see your posture improve and reduce back pain.

One thing to remember is that you still have to keep an eye on your posture during the day, and a good tip is imagining a piece of string at the crown of your head, being pulled towards the ceiling.

We’ll be elegant swans in no time.
