Working Hard On Your Exercise Routine? This Is The Best Time To Eat That Cheat Treat

Here’s when that treat will do the least damage.

If you’ve been working hard at your new exercise regime and food plan, it’s good to know there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.

According to weight loss experts, a small cheat treat is ok (once it’s in moderation), and can actually help people on a long-term weight loss goal eat healthier than when trying to follow a completely restrictive diet.

So when is the best time to nibble on something sweet?

Well despite thinking it might be better to eat before you head to the gym (so naturally you can sweat it out), leading nutrition expert Alan Aragon says you should actually be chewing on that chunk of chocolate after your gym session:

“That way, it stands a chance of being absorbed by your muscles instead of being stored as fat.

“Ideally, your indulgence should contain energy-boosting nutrients and enough calories (around 200) to keep you going.”

While that rules out most cakes, a good chunk of chocolate or bag of popcorn could be just the snack to help keep you happy (without ruining your hard work!)
