10 Things… The Everyday Tasks We Hate Doing

There are certain task that we would probably have to be paid money, a lot of money, to get enthusiastic about on a daily basis. They just become so boring over the years, then we just end up hating them. Here are ten of those tasks...

1. Ironing.

Whoever it was that came up with the great idea that everything should look smart and not creased, consider this a warning. We will find you. We curse you for all the hours spent bent over an ironing board and all those multiple burns. There is no need!

2. Doing the Dishes.

Ever got to the kitchen and thought "I really couldn't be bothered about eating something because I will have to wash that plate afterwards"? No, of course we haven't.

3. Hoovering

Hoovering was probably invented by the cousin of the guy who invented ironing. Well, we know that's not true but it is just incredibly cruel, especially when you look up the stairs and realise you're going to have to hoover your Everest.

4. Bringing out the Bins.

Why is this such a difficult task to perform? It's really not that hard to undertake but it just becomes a task that is so much bigger in your head than it is in reality. Plus, it doesn't really smell that good, does it?

5. Emptying the washing machine.

You did the hard part, you brought the clothes downstairs, you sorted them and put them in the washing machine. But emptying it? Just leave the door closed, they won't go stale.

6. Cooking.

Who am I cooking for tonight? Me? Couldn't be bothered. Cornflakes it is.

7. Taking Off Make-Up

I'm just going to lie down for a second and I will take it off. How is it suddenly 6am? Pillow covers RUINED.

8. Styling Hair

Can I not just get in a car with a sunroof like that girl in the Wash'n'Go advert? No? Fine, passing me all of those products over there. Hairdryer. Oh and the straightener.

9. Taking clothes in off the line.

Quick it's raining! Oh well, they're wet now.

10. Cleaning out the freezer.

Technically you should just have a pick-axe for this task. This is by far the worst, and although not an everyday task, one that you will definitely have to undertake at some stage.
