There are just some questions that shouldn’t be asked… ever. It doesn’t matter how good the person’s intentions are or how well you deal with answering them, it’s annoying.
Obviously there are exceptions but these are questions most people prefer not to be asked…
1. When are you due?
If you’re pregnant you probably love to be asked this question but if you’re not, it ruins your entire week.
2. Do you know how fast you were travelling?
Busted.
3. Is everything alright with your meal?
This one isn’t so much about the question but more so the timing. They always ask you when your mouth is full of food causing you to either risk choking by swallowing it down or nodding up and down with bulging cheeks (which we’re guessing isn’t attractive).
4. Will I get you a bigger size?
If we wanted you to do that we would have asked.
5. Can I see some I.D. please?
It’s alright when it’s a compliment but when you’ve been over 18 for seven years, it’s a little tiresome.
6. Are you wearing that out?
Not anymore.
7. Did you get that email about…?
It only spells trouble and often leads to that horrible sinking feeling in your stomach. Alternatives include: ‘Did you follow up on…?’ and ‘Who was responsible for…?’
8. Did you not sleep well?
We’d rather you just be honest and say we look like crap.
9. Why are you still single?
We don’t know but we love people drawing attention to it.
10. Would you like a customer reward card?
Every single time we go through the checkout! We know it has to be asked but please just put a sign up and let us shop in piece.
11. Would you mind…?
Nobody can say no to a question that starts with would you mind because if you do, you just look really mean.
12. How much did you pay for that?
Here comes the guilt trip…
